site news archive - more firefox extensions

Just a quick entry to describe another couple of firefox extensions I've discovered and found useful.
fireFTP
fireFTP is a rather cool little extension that adds an ftp client into firefox. The interface for it just appears in a new tab, which makes it convenient to use while browsing. I prefer Tools -> FireFTP than having to open another application. It does suffer from one irritating issue where the treeviews don't scroll horizontally, but according to the author it's an issue with firefox itself, not just the extension. Despite that I've found it useful though.
GMail Notifier
Does pretty much what it says on the tin, notifies you when you have mail in your gmail account. It also installs a nice status bar icon, which provides a count of unread mails and provides easy access to your account. Just click on the icon and your gmail account opens in a new tab.
