site news archive - ok, going away for a while

I keep on and on about this redesign and keep getting half way through then stopping. I need some sort of inspiration and motivation to actually get on with it.
What I think I'm going to do is take down my existing site until I get the new one up and running. That way I'm a) paying for hosting I'm not using and b) shaming myself into doing it by not having a site.
I'm going to transfer what I consider to be the useful content from this incarnation of the site over to the new one and I'll just dump the old rubbish. I know I've said before that my next site will likely be powered by textpattern but I've since decided it's actually more likely to be wordpress now.
Until then...
